I took the ferry Bali to Lombok recently and it was an adventurous journey. When you head over to the ferry terminal try to negotiate a shuttle of around 300,000 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). My friends and I decided to take the slow ferry to view the natural scenery and possibly a fun adventure. When you first arrive, be careful with the touts. They will try to rip you off and offer a higher price. DO NOT listen to them and head straight into the ferry terminal. Once you arrive into the ferry terminal, it will cost about 40,000 IDR for a ticket. This is much cheaper than the speed boat, and if you have the additional time I recommend taking the slower ferry.

I ended up going to the upper deck of the ferry which had much fresher air. You should also get a mat because the platform definitely hurt my back. I didn’t like to stand during the ride because I got seasick but maybe you can handle it better than me. Also, bring snacks with you because it’s quite a long ferry ride and you will get hungry! There are also people selling snacks on the ferry.
After about 5 hours of the ferry, it was exhilarating to see landfall.
When you arrive to the ferry terminal in Lombok, negotiate a price of 250k IDR because that is about the price of a Bluebird taxi. Unfortunately, Bluebird taxis are not allowed on the ferry terminal so it’s best to negotiate with the cab drivers at the terminal. After catching a ride at the terminal, we were able to take the ride into Kuta Lombok. All in all, taking the ferry Bali to Lombok was an exciting journey but make sure to be vigilant along the way to avoid being ripped off!
