I got a chance to check out DevilCraft a Tokyo based brewery for American food in Tokyo. If you are craving American style pizza and craft beer Tokyo, this is your restaurant. Many of the pizza places in Tokyo are more Neapolitan style pizza so it was a real find to encounter this Chicago style pizza restaurant. It is within walking distance to Kanda Station. Here is a picture of the building making it easier to find:
When arriving to the venue, the staff member, an American man, was very friendly. It was a bit cramped inside, but the aroma of pizza and beer was delightful and made me forget about it. There are a couple of floors in the building as well as outdoor seating. I quickly got a seat and ordered the Benchmark IPA. A reminder that DevilCraft is a Tokyo brewery so you can get craft beer at a more discounted price than the imported craft beers. I plan to try them next time I go back to the restaurant.
I ordered the small Devil Daddy sausage and mushroom pizza which is enough for 1-2 people. Another reminder is the wait can be up to 45 minutes for the pizza because they are making it from scratch. Trust me the wait will be well worth it when you are eating a fresh pizza! If you are hungry, why not order some appetizers? I tried the nachos as well as the spicy wings! Once the pizza arrived, I was ready to devour it. The fresh smell of tomatoes enticed me to take a large bite. Let’s just say I voraciously finished my pizza.
There are two other locations in Hamamatsucho and a new location opening in Gotanda. To find out more about this lovely restaurant check out this link: http://en.devilcraft.jp/
I recommend Devilcraft as a good restaurant for American food in Tokyo. Bring your appetite because you won’t be disappointed!
